The Gulf Assemblage:                                    After (p.45), AMOCO Seminar on Stratigraphic Principles.

This fauna reflects the eastward connection from the Gulf of Mexico bringing water of normal salinity into the central part of Florida Bay. This assemblage is present along the whole western, open-water side of Florida Bay and extends into the depression between Dildo Key Bank and Ninemile Bank nearly to the Upper Keys.
